Mind as trickster. Mercury, the Planet of communication/conscious mind is a well known trickster. Consider the stories you tell yourself about self, others and the world are not always 'true.' While Mercury travels through over-analyzing Virgo, we root around for reasons and problems. Stop! This will not solve a thing and instead will keep you from Heart-wisdom. Gentle yourself and connect with Heart.
Venus, the Goddess who tends to heart is making a vibrant connection to Uranus at the same time She is in a conflict with Chiron the Healer.This complex celestial dance will offer us treasures and deepen our awareness of wounds to be tenderly healed and raising our Heart vibrations!
Indecision is a hallmark of this Moon Libra as She-the Moon makes her way through the skies. A happy-hopeful connection with expansive Jupiter is made in a few hours, connecting us with our genuine nature.

Balance: the Holy Grail of a well-lived life? For some, the energy directed towards creating this mystical state of being creates more imbalance. As a matter of fact, each and every day we create imbalance in our own lives. It is in our nature to create imbalance. Our needs change and the experiences we require for our growth will alter how much energy we direct towards any given area of life. I feel some equate 'balance' with stress-free or an unbroken bliss-full life.
Of course, it is healthy to explore where there is a clear lack of attention being paid to body, mind or Spirit and that is, partly what the Moon Libra will teach us. Luna moves into Libra today@12;36pm and will dance through the Sign of the scales until July29@9;22pm.
The Libra scales are well used to symbolize justice, a major theme of the Moon Libra, when we encounter in our personal lives and in the greater world, obvious and painful examples of injustice. Under the increasing light of this Moon Libra, we look to make it right!
This evening, the Moon will dance well with the Sun and Mars in Leo, stimulating creativity and stirring passions!

Moon in Virgo but Mercury's extra long stay.

We think about better health; mental, physical and spiritual. We think about fine tuning any projects we have been pouring our passion. We think about accuracy and precision. We analyze. And, yes we may fret, over-worry and criticize.
Although, the Moon will only spend a few days in Virgo, She will usher in Mercury's extra long stay in Virgo. Mercury's tenure in this Sign will begin tonight@8:41pm and will have two cycles; the first ending Aug31 with the next dates Sept9-Sept29. These two different cycles are due to a Mercury retrograde-more on this in a later post.
Mercury, the celestial messenger,influences what makes the news, where our thoughts roam and so much more.. While Mercury sends its messages through Virgo, we can 'check in' with our perceptions. Lately, it seems some folks are confusing their perceptions with facts!
We have to be mindful we do not devolve into self-recriminations or an over-focus on all the wrongs, while Mercury travels through Virgo.
No matter what work we do, artist, dentist, carpenter, police, waitress, we can be better. This is the ultimate Apprenticeship Mercury and we can relax into this state of being. It is about making life more Virgo real, earthy and beautiful!

There are two main Spiritual themes to consider today.
The first is presented by Venus, Queen of Heart, Goddess of art and beauty, who encounters, Saturn, Lord of Karma. In this encounter, they stand opposite each other. Saturn, in his strict, dry authoritarian guise is attempting to suppress Venus. Saturn's dominion over Venus feels brittle and heavy. However, this is truly an excellent time to contemplate what obstacles, conditions( I have heard many) that you place on your Heart. What ways have you sabotaged your Heart-light? Think back to Mother and her love-history. This will reveal clues. Understand how fear dims the heart and dims our view of beauty. Think sweetly of losses and let them go.
The second Planetary pairing connects Mercury(communication, mind, consciousness) with wild Uranus. This is a scintillating connection that offers insight into old issues, problems that have defied solutions and opens channels to higher consciousness and brilliant clarity. Practice telepathy..!

New Moon Lion Heart

The King of the Sky, the Sun will enter the proud, fiery Sign of Leo, July22@12:15pm.
The Queen of the Night, the Moon manifests in Leo joining the King July23@6:45am(check your local times for both).
Together, this celestial Royal couple form the Leo New Moon.
The higher vibration of Leo: dignity, courage, play and noble heart is the desired intention of Leo.
The lower vibration is full of blustery ego, endlessly seeks approval and is given to childish outbursts.
This New Moon Leo asks us to consider our vast capacity for Love and the importance of play.
Exploring the New Moon Chart more deeply, we see that the Sun and Moon bump up against Uranus(high-octane vibration), which tells the story of conflict between our need for acceptance/ approval and striking out on our own; rebelling against constraint. Repressing this considerable energy can give rise to anxiety.
Chiron, the Healer plays a role in this story, telling us to heal our own wounds so that we can contribute healing to others.
Mars is flying under the beam of the Sun, which can drain energy, motivation. This only lasts for a few weeks.

The balsamic phase of the veiled Moon!

There is something deliciously mysterious and atmospheric about the balsamic phase of the veiled Moon; the time of her cycle, where she journeys through our ancient skies to slip into darkness. In this unseen phase she retreats from view to prepare for her re-birth. She emerges from the darkness and is re-birthed as the New Moon, with new wisdom stories to share. Mystics, through the ages have made the same journey. Withdraw and re-emerge.
Our Balsamic Moon is watery, emotional Cancer until July23@5:33am. In this Sign and Phase, she is the ultimate memory-keeper, calling us back to childhood memories. Emotions and psychic sensitivities are elevated, and the desire to retreat is strong and natural.
She-the Moon- encounters heavenly Neptune during the night, taking us deeper into dreams that illuminate a deeper level of our psyche.
Early morning Moon is taken hostage by Pluto, where raw, unresolved emotional wounds are exposed. Take care and be gentle with self.
Later the Moon will meet with Shamanic healer, Chiron, where we are able to alchemize our wounds to healing blessings.

The Planet Mars will be moving into fiery, passionate Leo July 20-September 5th. This is the Warrior-Queen/Warrior King Mars!
Mars has a brute-ego, brawler side and a noble-action, courageous expression.
In the Sign of Leo, the enlightened expression is one of purpose, play-full passion, and determined action. The Leo Mars takes pride in action and acknowledges the dignity of others. Mars influences our walk and in this royal Sign, the walk is purposeful, the posture straight.
The ego-brawling Mars in Leo is prone to tantrums and will do anything for attention. It is chock full of ego-pride and is inflexible. Note: D.T. has this Mars.
Watch your back! While Mars moves through Leo, back issues and injuries are common. This is true for the heart as well. Practice good back and heart health!

Goddess of the Hearth, Keeper of the Sacred Flame, Vesta entered one of her 'home' Signs, Virgo yesterday, where she will teach us about renewal through service to others, diet and health until Sept.18th. As a Fire Goddess, she will also purify what obstructs us from our devotion.
For Astrology geeks, it may be helpful to know that Vesta is the daughter of Saturn.
Vesta presides over many things, such as shrines, small spaces and keys. In your Birth Chart, Vesta will show what you have to sacrifice to achieve goals. She represents what I like to call,' uncommon devotion.' Vesta is key to psychological integration. Her Sign/House will indicate the hows.
While Vesta reigns in the Sign of Virgo, we clean our shrines. If you do not have a devotional practice,this is a good time to make that sacred commitment.
Vesta in Virgo will show us what we need to improve, especially in terms of diet and work. However, it will be very easy to become overly obsessive, focusing on the 'wrongs' rather than healthy improvements.
