We live and love in an interesting time. Inundated with more information then we have ever had access to in our human history, we load and overload our brains with bits and bytes. It is in our nature to seek. You might say that this innate desire to seek is part of our ancient brain. You might also say that it is essential to seek. Would we have walked upright or discovered fire without this primal prompting to seek and search? I think we can agree that it is doubtful. As you honour your ancient seeker brain and search for more and more information, are you wiser, more loving, more aware?
It is in our Spiritual DNA to become more aware. This takes courage and courage cannot happen without fear; it happens in spite of fear. The word courage derives from 'coeur', the French word for Heart. Our current model for becoming aware places a great deal of emphasis on our seeker's brain. If learn, study, read this or that, we will then be wise, more loving and move into the Spiritual Elite Club. Yes, we need our brain but it is our Heart that reveals our story. Stories of triumph, sorrows, trauma, old crusty wounds and stories of courage. It is from our Heart that we act with courage. So how do we act from Heart? What barriers and habitual patterns hold us hostage? Fears, shame and ego habits are among the culprits. How do we recognize them? Where did they come from?
Our outer world actively reflects our inner world. Your Astrological Chart reveals both. What is happening in your outer world is mirrored in unknown or stuck patterns in your inner world. These patterns are rooted in your Spiritual History. To become aware of our Spiritual History, we tend to re-enact these patterns in our lives. We direct energy towards these patterns because sometimes it is all we know. In doing so, we miss out.

'Washing the Sword' - In certain ancient cultures in Africa, the warrior goes through an initiation before going into battle. Upon his/her return they are kept in isolation before returning to their tribe. During this isolation, they took part in ceremonies that helped them wash their sword of horrors and traumas that they inflicted and/or experienced. This may sound like a dramatic example to illustrate why using a Retreat Center such as Dorje Denma Ling is important for a workshop like “Release and Reveal”, but it offers a safe container to explore our history and confidently embrace our movement forward. We are without the demands of our tribe. We are without our usual background noises. We are fully and passionately in an environment that supports our 'couer'!
